Welcome to this edition of our newsletter. Since we issued the last one, a lot of developments have taken place. Development Research and Training (DRT) has participated in many activities that advocate for putting in place interventions that can eliminate all forms of poverty as well as promoting access to information.
DRT recognizes that economic growth alone is not enough to tackle poverty and particularly severe and chronic poverty. There is need to put in place deliberate national social protection programs and systems to improve the economic and social security of the poorest, and support their efforts to create human capital and assets.
Access to information is also a key instrument in stimulating development, promotes accountability, transparency and reduces inequalities. This newsletter highlights some of the activities we have participated in and convey voices of the poor. Enjoy reading and your contributions are valuable.
